the world framed by the magnificent Table Mountain and the ocean. With fantastic beaches, restaurants and culture, Cape Town

Paarl Rock |
Paarl History:
Paarl gets its name from a huge granite rock that sits above the town. The origins
of the name Paarl come from this rock which has been compared in splendour to that oof Ayers Rock in Australia. It was named
'Parel' meaning Pearl in Dutch. Paarl is the third oldest European Settlement in South Africa. Today
it is home to a very culturally diverse community, the product of its unique history.
The people of Paarl are
descendants of the Khoisan, African-, and Eastern slaves, Dutch, French Huguenots, Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe,
Italian Prisoners of War, and Xhosa migrant labourers.
Today Paarl is a thriving town with
a new shopping mall close to Boschenmeer on the outskirts of the town. The town itself still retains all of its charm and
Cape Dutch architecture with magnificent gardens. Surrounded by vineyards vistiors are never far from another wine tasting
or fabulous restaurant
